When it comes to providing feedback on Meta, is it appropriate to downvote to show disagreement? [duplicate]

My understanding is that you are supposed to downvote when the answer is bad:

  • Doesn't explain itself properly
  • The solution provided is inefficient or impractical
  • The solution doesn't work or doesn't solve OP's problem
  • etc

But some ofmyanswers have been downvoted in a post that asked for feedback about a recent feature implemented here on Stack Overflow and, because of the lack of comments, I can't tell if the problem is that people disagree or that I made some sort of mistake as the ones from the bullet points above.

Don't get me wrong, if the case is that people disagree I'm totally fine with it, I just wanted to make sure I didn't anything wrong that could be improved.
